MZANSI LASS TERRY PHETO TO JOIN BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL SOAPIE

Actress Terry Pheto is joining the cast of one of Mzansi’s favourite international soapies The Bold and the Beautiful. Pheto shot to fame after playing the role of Miriam in the film Tsotsi. The movie subsequently won an Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Foreign Language movie in 2006, and grossed over US$2 million from just 6 screenings in the US. It was directed by Gavin Hood who later directed X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Her previous work include playing Pinky Khumba, the ambitious but unlucky-in-love football PRO in the SABC1 series Zone 14, Miriam in the movie Catch a Fire, Zindzi Mandela in Goodbye Bafana and sultry but ambitious Fikile in the underrated series Hopeville.

Ms Pheto is currently in Los Angeles in the US where she’s enjoying the sights and summer feeling, while back in her home of Gauteng we are all freezing our teeth out! She will be playing the role of a South African heart surgeon, and sharing screen time with B&B icons like Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Ridge (Ronn Moss) and Taylor (Hunter Tylo) but that’s as much as we know at this point. Unfortunately because of the long lag between USA and SA episodes of B&B, we will only start seeing her on our screens sometime in 2012.
