The 2011 Good Food & Wine Show will feature two of the world’s most respected chefs in Gordon Ramsay and George Calombaris. The show takes place at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg between 22 and 25 September. Organisers promise that this year’s event will be much bigger and exciting than ever before. With someone like Ramsay on the panel, things will certainly get heated no doubt.
Ramsay is well known for his TV cooking shows, his Maze restaurant and his failed attempt at replicating himself to Mzansi foodies by opening a Maze in Cape Town. Lately he has been doing a lot of TV work where he helps resurrect failed restaurants in the UK and the USA on the Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares series. He’s also known for his sharp, PG-rated tongue. Ramsay is 44 years old and has won 12 Michelin stars.
Comparably, Calombaris is a choir boy. Greek of origin, the 32 year old Masterchef Australia judge owns three restaurants in Melbourne one in Greece. One of his Australian eateries, called The Press Club, won Best New Restaurant in 2008.
